Abstract

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) may be used to treat selected cancers of the head and neck. Usually done endoscopically, PDT is a minimally invasive alternative or adjuvant therapy for cancer treatment. PDT succeeds in destroying malignant cells with minimal normal tissue loss.
