BACKGROUND
Wilms' tumor is the commonest primary malignant renal tumor in childhood. Rarely, it may present in the adult age group.
CASE PRESENTATION
We report a 48-year-old male presenting with flank pain and haematuria. Abdominal ultrasound revealed a right renal mass measuring 11 x 10 cms, and a clinical diagnosis of renal cell carcinoma was made. Nephrectomy was performed, and a final diagnosis of adult Wilms' tumor was made based on the criteria proposed by Kilton et al.
CONCLUSION
The possibility of an adult Wilms' tumor should be considered when a patient presents with pain in the flank and a renal mass. Rarity of the tumor favors documentation in literature.
背景
肾母细胞瘤是儿童期最常见的原发性恶性肾肿瘤。极少情况下，它可能出现在成人年龄组。
病例报告
我们报告一名48岁男性，表现为侧腹疼痛和血尿。腹部超声显示右肾有一个大小为11×10厘米的肿块，临床诊断为肾细胞癌。进行了肾切除术，并根据基尔顿等人提出的标准最终诊断为成人肾母细胞瘤。
结论
当患者出现侧腹疼痛和肾肿块时，应考虑成人肾母细胞瘤的可能性。该肿瘤的罕见性有利于在文献中记录。
