The report about a mountain community (Urnäsch) with 2400 inhabitants at 700-1100 m above sea level with 16-18% aged over 65 shows the help for the aged by several groups: women's club, church, cultural institutions. The community doctor looks after 4 homes for the aged. He also treats those patients living in their own houses. The aged usually prefere being nursed and dying at home in the shelter of the native mountain area.
