Although dual-career hires are a common recruitment tool in academe, they remain a challenge for institutions hiring same-sex couples. This narrative tells the story of one such couple--it focuses on our professional and personal journey and the collective social activism that challenged one university to begin to address issues that face LGBT faculty throughout higher education.
