The production of ethylene by fading blooms of Vanda Miss Agnes Joaquim, determined quantitatively by the perchlorate manometric procedure, was correlated with the degree of fading. A peak production of over 3400 microl per kilogram hour was obtained when 97 percent of the blooms were faded.
