About 10% of German general public have an advanced directive (representative surveys between 2002 - 2007). Surveys of patients (cancer, dialysis) show higher percentages (15 - 18%). The anticipated adherence to the advanced directive is lower in patients than in healthy persons or medical staff. To improve autonomy at the end of life not only advanced directives, but also alternative concepts such as Advanced-Care-Planning, emergency plans or stakeholders should be considered.
约10%的德国普通公众拥有预立医疗指示（2002年至2007年期间的代表性调查）。对患者（癌症、透析患者）的调查显示比例更高（15% - 18%）。患者对预立医疗指示的预期依从性低于健康人或医务人员。为提高临终时的自主性，不仅应考虑预立医疗指示，还应考虑诸如进阶照护规划、应急计划或利益相关者等替代概念。
