Aggressive angiomyxoma is a variant of myxoid neoplasms of the female pelvic soft parts. The term "aggressive" refers to the tumor's locally infiltrative and recurrent nature because distant metastases are rare.
A 25-year-old woman presented with a 9-month history of an asymptomatic, polypoid mass arising from the right anterior labium minus. Histopathological and radiological examinations were consistent with a diagnosis of aggressive angiomyxoma. The patient was treated with a GnRH agonist followed by surgical excision.
We highlight the novel use of a GnRH agonist as a neoadjuvant to surgery in aggressive angiomyxoma to shrink the tumor preoperatively and decrease surgical morbidity.
