INTRODUCTION
Recurrent Guillain-Barré syndrome is a very rare entity. Few cases have been reported.
CASE REPORT
We report two patients who have developed a recurrent Guillain-Barré syndrome where one or even two episodes occurred after the same type of surgery, a hip prosthesis replacement.
DISCUSSION
Occurrence of Guillain-Barré syndrome after surgery has mainly been reported in relation to epidural anesthesia and less frequently general anesthesia. Although underlying pathogenic mechanisms remain unknown, a molecular mimicry phenomenon has been proposed.
