Abstract

OBJECTIVE

To explore the expression of pituitary tumor transforming gene (PTTG) in human renal clear cell carcinoma (RCCC) and its significance.

METHODS

PTTG protein expression was detected by immunohistochemistry in 87 RCCC and 45 paired normal renal tissues.

RESULTS

PTTG was expressed differentially between the normal renal and RCCC tissues. Compared with normal tissues, the primary RCCC tissues showed significantly increased expression of PTTG protein (P<0.001). The positive rate of PTTG protein was positively correlated to the tumor size, clinical stage and Fuhrman grade of RCCC (P=0.009, 0.008 and 0.035, respectively).

CONCLUSION

Increased PTTG protein expression may be involved in the carcinogenesis and progression of RCCC.

目的

探讨垂体瘤转化基因(PTTG)在人肾透明细胞癌(RCCC)中的表达及其意义。

方法

采用免疫组织化学法检测87例RCCC组织及45例配对的正常肾组织中PTTG蛋白的表达。

结果

正常肾组织与RCCC组织中PTTG表达存在差异。与正常组织相比,原发性RCCC组织中PTTG蛋白表达显著增加(P<0.001)。PTTG蛋白阳性率与RCCC的肿瘤大小、临床分期及Fuhrman分级呈正相关(分别为P=0.009、0.008和0.035)。

结论

PTTG蛋白表达增加可能参与RCCC的发生发展。
