Evaluation of the serum leptin in normal pregnancy and gestational diabetes mellitus in Zahedan, southeast Iran.

PURPOSE
There is conflicting data regarding leptin in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). The aim of the present study was to compare serum leptin levels between individuals with GDM and normal pregnancy.
METHODS
This case-control study was performed on 26 GDM and 22 healthy pregnant women. Leptin concentrations were measured using an enzyme immunoassay.
RESULTS
The level of serum leptin was not significantly different between GDM (9.890 ± 7.764 ng/ml) and normal pregnant women (13.80 ± 10.32 ng/ml) (p = 0.14).
CONCLUSION
There are no significant differences between GDM and normal pregnant women regarding leptin levels.
目的
关于妊娠糖尿病（GDM）中的瘦素存在相互矛盾的数据。本研究的目的是比较 GDM 患者和正常妊娠者的血清瘦素水平。
方法
本病例对照研究纳入了 26 例 GDM 患者和 22 例健康孕妇。采用酶联免疫吸附法检测瘦素浓度。
结果
GDM 患者（9.890±7.764ng/ml）与正常孕妇（13.80±10.32ng/ml）的血清瘦素水平无显著差异（p=0.14）。
结论
GDM 患者与正常孕妇的瘦素水平无显著差异。
