History of heart-lung transplantation.

Over the next few years we will see expanded application of the single lung transplant. At the moment domino procedure, with its advantage of very reliable tracheal healing, has the advantage over the double lung operation. We would expect routine use of the heart from those heart-lung recipients with anything more than moderately impaired cardiac function.
