Writing for publication is a fulfilling activity that strengthens our discipline by building the knowledge we need for practice. Most writing teams work in a collaborative manner to determine authorship credit depending on the relative intellectual contributions of each author. By respecting the importance of intellectual property, nurse authors can ensure that an entire writing team can receive the benefits of publishing together in peer-reviewed journals.
