Abstract
Confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) is a useful research tool to explore the exopolysaccharides (EPS) in bacterial biofilms. Here, we describe the analysis of different biofilms of Myxococcus xanthusformed in a modified chamber slide system with CLSM. In conjunction with several specific fluorescent probes, the EPS within M. xanthusbiofilms can be visualized and analyzed in situ.

共聚焦激光扫描显微镜（CLSM）是探索细菌生物膜中胞外多糖（EPS）的一种有用的研究工具。在此，我们描述了利用CLSM对在改良的腔室载玻片系统中形成的黄色粘球菌不同生物膜进行分析。结合几种特异性荧光探针，黄色粘球菌生物膜内的EPS可在原位进行可视化和分析。
