Abstract

The maximal expiratory flow-volume curve (MEFV) and airway resistance (Raw) were studied before and after smoking a single cigarette in 51 male and 51 female healthy nonsmokers. The results showed that there was a significant increase in Raw after smoking, but no change in MEFV. The acute airway response after smoking a single cigarette represents vagally mediated protective reflex. Raw is the most sensitive test in detecting acute airway constriction. There is no sexual difference in acute effects of smoking.

摘要

对51名男性和51名女性健康非吸烟者在吸一支烟前后的最大呼气流量-容积曲线(MEFV)和气道阻力(Raw)进行了研究。结果显示,吸烟后Raw显著增加,但MEFV无变化。吸一支烟后的急性气道反应代表迷走神经介导的保护性反射。Raw是检测急性气道收缩最敏感的指标。吸烟的急性效应不存在性别差异。
