Behçet's disease (BD) is a systemic vasculitis involving diverse sizes of arteries and veins. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between central blood pressures, pulse wave velocity (PWV) measurements, and biochemical parameters in patients with inactive and active BD and control subjects.
Ninety-six patients with BD were recruited in this study. Each subject was evaluated in active and inactive disease periods. For the control group, 54 healthy age- and sex-matched subjects were enrolled. All patients completed a standard questionnaire form and various laboratory parameters were evaluated. Vascular measurements were performed with a Mobil-O-Graph 24-h PWA Monitor, an automatic oscillometric device.
According to the vascular function parameters of patients with active and inactive BD, 24-h, day, and night PWV values were higher in patients with active BD than in patients with inactive BD (p < 0.05). When we performed a linear regression analysis, 24-h PWV was positively correlated with age and duration of BD. Cardiac output (CO) values and day central diastolic blood pressure (DBP) were higher in patients with BD than in the control group (p < 0.05).
PWV values were higher in patients with active BD than in patients with inactive BD. This may be explained by more prominent inflammatory changes in the vascular wall in the active disease period. Further studies in large populations are required to confirm our results.
白塞病（BD）是一种累及动脉和静脉不同大小的系统性血管炎。本研究旨在评估活动期和缓解期 BD 患者与对照组之间中心血压、脉搏波速度（PWV）测量值和生化参数之间的关系。
本研究纳入了 96 例 BD 患者。每位患者都在活动期和缓解期进行了评估。对于对照组，招募了 54 名年龄和性别匹配的健康受试者。所有患者均完成了标准问卷表，评估了各种实验室参数。使用 Mobil-O-Graph 24 小时 PWA 监测仪（一种自动示波装置）进行血管测量。
根据活动期和缓解期 BD 患者的血管功能参数，活动期 BD 患者的 24 小时、白天和夜间 PWV 值均高于缓解期 BD 患者（p < 0.05）。当我们进行线性回归分析时，24 小时 PWV 与年龄和 BD 持续时间呈正相关。BD 患者的心输出量（CO）值和日间中心舒张压（DBP）高于对照组（p < 0.05）。
活动期 BD 患者的 PWV 值高于缓解期 BD 患者。这可能是由于活动期血管壁的炎症变化更为明显。需要在更大的人群中进行进一步的研究来证实我们的结果。
