The aim of this study was to perform a 2 months clinical and histological comparison of autologous bone, porcine bone, and a 50 : 50 mixture in maxillary sinus augmentation procedures.
A total of 10 consecutive patients, undergoing two-stage sinus augmentation procedures using 100% autologous bone (Group A), 100% porcine bone (Group B), and a 50 : 50 mixture of autologous and porcine bone (Group C) were included in this study. After a 2-month healing period, at the time of implant insertion, clinical evaluation was performed and bone core biopsies were harvested and processed for histological analysis.
The postoperative healing was uneventful regardless of the materials used for the sinus augmentation procedures. The histomorphometrical analysis revealed comparable percentages of newly formed bone, marrow spaces, and residual grafted material in the three groups.
The clinical and histological results of this study indicated that porcine bone alone or in combination with autologous bone are biocompatible and osteoconductive materials and can be successfully used in sinus augmentation procedures.
本研究旨在对上颌窦提升术中自体骨、猪骨及二者50:50混合物进行为期2个月的临床和组织学比较。
本研究共纳入10例连续患者,他们接受了两阶段的上颌窦提升术,其中使用100%自体骨的为A组,使用100%猪骨的为B组,使用自体骨与猪骨50:50混合物的为C组。经过2个月的愈合期后,在植入种植体时进行临床评估,并采集骨芯活检样本进行组织学分析。
无论上颌窦提升术使用何种材料,术后愈合均顺利。组织形态计量学分析显示,三组中新形成骨、骨髓腔和残余移植材料的百分比相当。
本研究的临床和组织学结果表明,单独使用猪骨或与自体骨联合使用均为生物相容性良好且具有骨传导性的材料,可成功用于上颌窦提升术。
