Acute respiratory distress syndrome is a rare complication during pregnancy but remains dificult to manage, with a high incidence of maternal mortality.
We present 3 cases of respiratory failure and severe pulmonary disease managed with airway pressure release ventilation, among other ventilatory modes, with improved ventilation.
Airway pressure release ventilation may be an important option as a ventilatory mode for management of maternal respiratory failure during pregnancy.
