To report a case of clinically significant epithelial ingrowth after LASIK that was successfully treated with a hydrogel ocular sealant in combination with flap lifting and scraping technique.
Case report.
A 56-year-old woman underwent LASIK and a LASIK enhancement procedure in 2002 and 2012, respectively. Six months after the enhancement, visually significant epithelial ingrowth developed in both of her eyes. The left eye was treated with flap lifting, scraping, and suturing, and the right eye was treated with a hydrogel ocular sealant in combination with flap lifting and scraping. No recurrence was evident during a 6-month follow-up period and visual acuity improved in both eyes. No adverse effects were noticed.
Recurrent epithelial ingrowth may be successfully avoided with the intraoperative use of a hydrogel ocular sealant combined with flap lifting and scraping. This approach could be used as an alternative to LASIK flap suturing.

一名56岁女性分别于2002年和2012年接受了LASIK手术及LASIK增效手术。增效手术后6个月,她的双眼均出现了具有明显视觉影响的上皮内生。左眼采用掀开瓣、刮除和缝合治疗,右眼采用水凝胶眼用密封剂联合掀开瓣和刮除治疗。在6个月的随访期内未发现复发,且双眼视力均有改善。未观察到不良反应。
术中使用水凝胶眼用密封剂联合掀开瓣和刮除可成功避免复发性上皮内生。该方法可作为LASIK瓣缝合的替代方法。
