Abstract
Methyl glycosides of the title linear trisaccharide and branched tetrasaccharide were synthesized by stepwise glycosylation. These oligosaccharides represent the fragments of O-antigenic polysaccharides of Shigella flexneri serotypes 2b, 3a, 5b, and X.
