To evaluate the relationship between mean platelet volume (MPV) and red cell distribution width (RDW), and disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis (RA).
PATIENTS & METHODS: Hundred RA and 100 controls were included.
MPV and RDW were higher in RA (p < 0.0001). The cut-off levels of RDW and MPV were 14.8 and 10.4. Patients with RDW >14.8 had higher Disease Activity Score 28 (DAS28; p = 0.002) and pain score (p = 0.0007). RDW was positively correlated with DAS28 and pain. But, DAS28 and pain were not different between patients with MPV >10.4 and <10.4.
MPV and RDW were significantly higher in RA. RDW and MPV were similar to erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein to indicate inflammatory activity. RDW was correlated with pain and DAS28, but MPV was not associated with them.
评估类风湿关节炎（RA）患者的平均血小板体积（MPV）与红细胞分布宽度（RDW）之间的关系以及疾病活动度。
纳入100例RA患者和100例对照。
RA患者的MPV和RDW更高（p < 0.0001）。RDW和MPV的临界值分别为14.8和10.4。RDW>14.8的患者疾病活动评分28（DAS28；p = 0.002）和疼痛评分更高（p = 0.0007）。RDW与DAS28和疼痛呈正相关。但是，MPV>10.4和<10.4的患者之间DAS28和疼痛并无差异。
RA患者的MPV和RDW显著更高。RDW和MPV与红细胞沉降率和C反应蛋白类似，可提示炎症活动度。RDW与疼痛和DAS28相关，但MPV与它们无关。
