In this issue of , Huang et al investigate cellular gene expression profiles in Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)–immortalized B and normal B cells. They present evidence that a viral protein inhibits a cellular receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) and that this inhibition is important in lymphomagenesis.
