It was established that during the development of alloxan diabetes in rats action of alloxan on the tissue of the entire pancreas is the determinative condition for the appearance of the diabetogenic factor in blood circulation. The specific activity of the diabetogenic factor is detected in circulation 24 hours after intravenous administration of alloxan.
