A strain 5-1-2 was isolated from a root nodule of Hedysarum multijugum collected from Zhangye city, Gansu province, north-west China. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence and other housekeeping genes (recA and atpD) indicated that the strain represents a novel species in the genus Rhizobium close to the strain Rhizobium subbaraonis JC85 with similarities of 98.27, 88.92 and 89.62%, respectively. Strain 5-1-2 contained Q-10 as the predominant ubiquinone. Our results showed that the major fatty acids were feature 8 (C ω7c and/or C ω6c; 38.90%). In addition, the DNA-DNA hybridizations with the type strains R. subbaraonis JC85 and Rhizobium halophytocola YC6881 were 39.2 ± 2.1 and 44.3 ± 1.9, respectively. Therefore, a novel species Rhizobium hedysari sp. nov. is proposed, and 5-1-2 (=CGMCC1.15677 = NBRC112532 is designated as the type strain.
从中国西北甘肃省张掖市采集的多叶岩黄芪根瘤中分离出菌株5-1-2。基于16S rRNA基因序列和其他看家基因(recA和atpD)的系统发育分析表明,该菌株代表根瘤菌属中的一个新物种,与根瘤菌Subbaraonis JC85菌株亲缘关系较近,相似性分别为98.27%、88.92%和89.62%。菌株5-1-2以泛醌Q-10作为主要泛醌。我们的结果表明,主要脂肪酸为特征8(C ω7c和/或C ω6c;38.90%)。此外,与模式菌株Subbaraonis JC85和盐生植物根瘤菌YC6881的DNA-DNA杂交率分别为39.2 ± 2.1和44.3 ± 1.9。因此,提出了一个新物种——多叶岩黄芪根瘤菌(Rhizobium hedysari sp. nov.),并将5-1-2(=CGMCC1.15677 = NBRC112532)指定为模式菌株。
