In recent years, there has been a growing interest in researching and developing new antimicrobial agents from various sources to combat microbial resistance. Therefore, a greater attention has been paid to antimicrobial activity screening and evaluating methods. Several bioassays such as disk-diffusion, well diffusion and broth or agar dilution are well known and commonly used, but others such as flow cytofluorometric and bioluminescent methods are not widely used because they require specified equipment and further evaluation for reproducibility and standardization, even if they can provide rapid results of the antimicrobial agent's effects and a better understanding of their impact on the viability and cell damage inflicted to the tested microorganism. In this review article, an exhaustive list of antimicrobial susceptibility testing methods and detailed information on their advantages and limitations are reported.
近年来,人们对从各种来源研究和开发新型抗菌剂以对抗微生物耐药性的兴趣日益浓厚。因此,对抗菌活性筛选和评估方法给予了更多关注。诸如纸片扩散法、打孔扩散法以及肉汤或琼脂稀释法等几种生物测定法广为人知且常用,但诸如流式细胞荧光法和生物发光法等其他方法却未得到广泛应用,因为即便它们能够快速提供抗菌剂效果的结果,并能更好地理解其对受试微生物的生存能力和细胞损伤的影响,但它们需要特定设备,且在重复性和标准化方面还需进一步评估。在这篇综述文章中,报告了一份详尽的抗菌药敏试验方法清单以及关于其优缺点的详细信息。
