Pain is a serious and common problem in bone metastases. For this purpose, complementary and supportive practices are also applied along with medical treatment. This study was conducted for the purpose of evaluating the effect of acupressure on pain in cancer patients with bone metastasis.
The study was conducted in a nonrandomized controlled trial with patients who applied to the radiotherapy unit of an oncology hospital. The data of the study were collected by using a questionnaire and the Visual Analog Scale. A total of 8 acupressure sessions, which lasted for approximately 10 minutes each (with warming and acupressure periods), was applied to the intervention group. The data were analyzed by using χ test, paired t test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient.
It was determined that the pain mean score of the intervention group was 7.6 ± 1.9 before the acupressure and decreased to 6.8 ± 1.9 after the acupressure and this result was statistically significant. On the other hand, no significant difference was determined in the pain mean score of the control group.
Acupressure is applicable for cancer patients with bone metastasis by nursing staff after receiving brief training and may make a difference in relieving pain of the patients. Further well-designed trials should be conducted.
疼痛是骨转移患者中一个严重且常见的问题。为此，除了医疗治疗，还会应用补充和支持性实践。本研究旨在评估穴位按压对癌症骨转移患者疼痛的影响。
该研究采用非随机对照试验，研究对象为肿瘤医院放射治疗科的患者。研究数据通过问卷调查和视觉模拟评分法收集。干预组接受了总共 8 次穴位按压，每次持续约 10 分钟（包括热身和穴位按压期）。采用 χ 检验、配对 t 检验和 Pearson 相关系数对数据进行分析。
研究结果表明，干预组在穴位按压前的疼痛平均得分为 7.6±1.9，按压后降低至 6.8±1.9，这一结果具有统计学意义。另一方面，对照组的疼痛平均得分没有显著差异。
经过简短培训后，护理人员可为癌症骨转移患者实施穴位按压，这可能有助于缓解患者的疼痛。需要进一步开展精心设计的试验。
