A Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, non-motile, rod-shaped (0.2-0.3×0.8-1.4 µm) and yellow-pigmented bacterium, designated K5023, was isolated from marine sediment obtained off the coast of Weihai, China. Strain K5023 was found to grow at 16-37 °C (optimum, 33 °C), at pH 6.5-8.0 (optimum, 7.0-7.5) and in the presence of 1-10 % (w/v) NaCl (optimum, 5 %). Cells were oxidase-positive and catalase-negative. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain K5023 is a member of the genus Salegentibacter and exhibited the hightest sequence similarity to Salegentibacter flavus DSM 22702 (97.0 %). Menaquinone-6 (MK-6) was detected as the major respiratory quinone. The dominant cellular fatty acids were iso-C15 : 0 and anteiso-C15 : 0. The DNA G+C content of strain K5023 was 40.1 mol%. The polar lipids included one phosphatidylethanolamine, three phospholipids and four unidentified lipids. Based on the phylogenetic and phenotypic characteristics, strain K5023 is considered to represent a novel species of the genus Salegentibacter, for which the name Salegentibacter sediminis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is K5023 (=KCTC 52477=MCCC 1H00173).
从中国威海海岸附近采集的海洋沉积物中分离出一株革兰氏阴性、需氧、无运动性、杆状(0.2 - 0.3×0.8 - 1.4 µm)且产黄色色素的细菌,命名为K5023。发现菌株K5023在16 - 37°C(最适温度为33°C)、pH 6.5 - 8.0(最适pH为7.0 - 7.5)以及1 - 10%(w/v)NaCl(最适浓度为5%)的条件下生长。细胞氧化酶阳性,过氧化氢酶阴性。基于16S rRNA基因序列的系统发育分析表明,菌株K5023是盐生杆菌属的成员,与黄色盐生杆菌DSM 22702的序列相似性最高(97.0%)。检测到甲基萘醌-6(MK-6)为主要呼吸醌。主要的细胞脂肪酸为异-C15:0和anteiso-C15:0。菌株K5023的DNA G+C含量为40.1 mol%。极性脂质包括一种磷脂酰乙醇胺、三种磷脂和四种未鉴定的脂质。基于系统发育和表型特征,菌株K5023被认为代表盐生杆菌属的一个新物种,为此提出盐生沉积物杆菌新种(Salegentibacter sediminis sp. nov.)。模式菌株为K5023(=KCTC 52477=MCCC 1H00173)。
