() is a rare documentation science book for textual research in traditional Chinese medicine, which makes the textual research on ancient books before the Tang Dynasty by probing its provenance and development, judging the right from wrong, citing extensively with relatively reliable evidences. Actually, many items in this work were written to refute the Confucian master Yu Yue's (), and, to some extent, makes contributions to defend the status of traditional Chinese medicine.
