Abstract

Benth. (Lamiaceae) is a valued medicinal plant in traditional folk medicine. Many pharmacological studies have demonstrated the ability of this plant to exhibit antimicrobial, antioxidant, hepatoprotection, antigenotoxic, antiplasmodial, cytotoxic, cardioactive, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory activies. This review is a comprehensive summary of the presently available chemical, pharmacological investigations as well as the traditional and therapeutic uses of this plant. Important and different experimental data have been addressed along with a review of all phytochemicals identified in this plant, including flavonoids, terpenoids, and essential oils. has wide traditional and pharmacological uses in various pathophysiological conditions. Therefore, it is an attractive subject for further experimental and clinical investigations.

摘要

本氏(唇形科)是传统民间医学中一种珍贵的药用植物。许多药理学研究表明,这种植物具有抗菌、抗氧化、保肝、抗基因毒性、抗疟、细胞毒性、心脏活性、抗糖尿病、抗炎活性。本综述全面总结了该植物目前可用的化学、药理学研究以及传统和治疗用途。重要且不同的实验数据已得到阐述,同时还对该植物中鉴定出的所有植物化学物质进行了综述,包括黄酮类、萜类和精油。在各种病理生理状况下具有广泛的传统和药理学用途。因此,它是进一步实验和临床研究的一个有吸引力的课题。
