Mannosylxylarinolide (), a new 3,4--ergostane-type steroidal saponin featuring a -d-mannose moiety, was isolated from the culture of the endophytic fungus sp. that had been isolated from an ornamental plant of sp. The gross structure was determined by spectroscopic data, and the absolute configuration of the new 3,4--ergostane-type steroidal saponin () was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis.
