The investigation aims to compare antimicrobial efficacy of the extract of , against and , with sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl).
T he dehydrated oleo-gum resin of was extracted by using 70% ethanol and was suspended in 99.8% dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as a dissolving agent in a 1:2 volume to produce an aqueous solution at room temperature. Agar-well diffusion and broth microdilution methods assay were utilized to determine both the antimicrobial activity and minimum inhibitory concentration, of alcoholic extract of against and . The values of the inhibition zones were determined based on the concentration of the investigated material. One hundred and forty extracted human premolar teeth were instrumented and immersed in bacterial suspension of or (70 teeth in each species suspension). Prepared teeth were then immersed in the myrrh extract solution, 2.5% NaOCl, DMSO, or Cefotaxime and incubated for 30 and 60 minutes.
The largest inhibition zone diameter for both bacterial species was obtained by the 100mg/100L concentration. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was 0.03mg/300L for both and . The minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) results showed that 0.03mg/L myrrh extract and 2.5% sodium hypochlorite significantly reduced bacterial growth at both 30 and 60 minutes of different treatments of root canals, compared to DMSO group (negative control) and the antibiotic group (positive group).

采用70%乙醇提取没药脱水油胶树脂,并将其以1:2的体积悬浮于99.8%二甲基亚砜(DMSO)中作为溶解剂,在室温下制成水溶液。采用琼脂孔扩散法和肉汤微量稀释法测定没药醇提取物对变形链球菌和远缘链球菌的抗菌活性及最低抑菌浓度。根据所研究物质的浓度确定抑菌圈大小。选取140颗拔除的人类前磨牙进行根管预备,然后浸泡于变形链球菌或远缘链球菌的细菌悬液中(每种细菌悬液70颗牙)。之后将处理好的牙齿分别浸泡于没药提取物溶液、2.5%次氯酸钠、DMSO或头孢噻肟中,孵育30分钟和60分钟。
两种细菌在浓度为100mg/100L时抑菌圈直径最大。变形链球菌和远缘链球菌的最低抑菌浓度(MIC)均为0.03mg/300L。最低杀菌浓度(MBC)结果显示,与DMSO组(阴性对照)和抗生素组(阳性对照)相比,0.03mg/L没药提取物和2.5%次氯酸钠在根管不同处理30分钟和60分钟时均能显著抑制细菌生长。
