Abstract

AIM

This study was to determine the sensitivity of isolated from pus specimens of post-surgery patients in Medan, Indonesia to selected antibiotics.

METHODS

Samples were collected at the Laboratory of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan, Indonesia. The isolated bacteria were identified by Gram's stain, colony characteristics, and biochemical tests. Susceptibility of isolates were tested to selected antibiotics including amikacin, meropenem, levofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, co-trimoxazole, ceftazidime, cefoperazone, cefuroxime, cefepime, cefotaxime, tetracycline, chloramphenicol, amoxicillin and ampicillin with Kirby Bauer method by measuring the inhibitory zone.

RESULTS

A total of 20 isolates were obtained in this study. The results showed that isolates exhibited good sensitivity to amikacin (100%) and meropenem (80%). Sensitivity of levofloxacin (60%), ceftazidime (55%), ciprofloxacin (55%), cefoperazone (50%), and co-trimoxazole (50%) were moderate for the bacterial isolates. isolates indicated low sensitivity to cefuroxime (45%), chloramphenicol (35%), cefepime (30%), cefotaxime (30%), tetracycline (30%), amoxicillin (5%), and ampicillin (5%).

CONCLUSION

This study concludes that isolates are most sensitive to amikacin and less sensitive to ampicillin and amoxicillin.

摘要

目的

本研究旨在确定从印度尼西亚棉兰市外科手术后患者的脓液标本中分离出的细菌对所选抗生素的敏感性。

方法

样本在印度尼西亚棉兰市苏门答腊北部大学医学院微生物实验室采集。通过革兰氏染色、菌落特征和生化试验鉴定分离出的细菌。采用 Kirby Bauer 法,通过测量抑菌圈,检测分离菌株对包括阿米卡星、美罗培南、左氧氟沙星、环丙沙星、复方新诺明、头孢他啶、头孢哌酮、头孢呋辛、头孢吡肟、头孢噻肟、四环素、氯霉素、阿莫西林和氨苄西林在内的所选抗生素的敏感性。

结果

本研究共获得 20 株分离菌株。结果显示,分离菌株对阿米卡星(100%)和美罗培南(80%)表现出良好的敏感性。左氧氟沙星(60%)、头孢他啶(55%)、环丙沙星(55%)、头孢哌酮(50%)和复方新诺明(50%)对分离细菌的敏感性中等。分离菌株对头孢呋辛(45%)、氯霉素(35%)、头孢吡肟(30%)、头孢噻肟(30%)、四环素(30%)、阿莫西林(5%)和氨苄西林(5%)的敏感性较低。

结论

本研究得出结论,分离菌株对阿米卡星最敏感,对氨苄西林和阿莫西林较不敏感。
