Abstract

Polydopamine-coated magnetic mesoporous silica nanoparticles have been designed by loading ultrasmall iron oxide nanoparticles within hollow mesoporous silica nanopartricles and then coating polydopamine onto the particle surface. The developed nanoplatform displayed improved colloidal stability, enhanced r relaxivity and near infrared absorption feature, affording their use for multimodal cancer theranostics.
