Nipple fissure is a common problem among breastfeeding women, which can lead to early cessation of breastfeeding. Because of the lack of effective treatment and given the approved efficacy of honey and yarrow on sore healing, this study was conducted to evaluate and compare the effects of yarrow, honey, and breast milk on the treatment of nipple fissure.
This study was a three-group clinical trial, and sampling was conducted at Sina breastfeeding counseling center from September 2016 to March 2018 in Sirjan, Iran, using a target-based method. The sample size consisted of 150 individuals who were randomly assigned into three groups as topical use of yarrow, the mountain honey, and breast milk after obtaining the written informed consent. The correct method of breastfeeding and using materials were instructed to these three groups on the 1, 3, and 7 days, where the Storr scale was completed by the researcher.
Friedman test showed that, in these three groups of yarrow (χ = 92.19, df = 2, < 0.001), honey (χ = 93.29, df = 2, < 0.001), and breast milk (χ = 90.51, df = 2, < 0.001)); severity of fissure had a significant reduction. Nevertheless, Kruskal-Wallis test revealed no significant difference among the severity of fissure scores in these three groups ( > 0.05).
Use of honey, yarrow, and breast milk can be recommended to women in breastfeeding counseling and pharmaceutical companies can be advised to use honey and yarrow in the preparation of anti-fissure creams.
乳头皲裂是哺乳期女性的常见问题，可导致母乳喂养提前终止。由于缺乏有效的治疗方法，且鉴于蜂蜜和蓍草在伤口愈合方面已获认可的疗效，本研究旨在评估和比较蓍草、蜂蜜和母乳对乳头皲裂的治疗效果。
本研究为三组临床试验，于2016年9月至2018年3月在伊朗锡尔詹的新浪母乳喂养咨询中心采用基于目标的方法进行抽样。样本量为150人，在获得书面知情同意后，将其随机分为三组，分别局部使用蓍草、山花蜜和母乳。在第1、3和7天向这三组指导正确的母乳喂养和使用材料的方法，由研究人员完成斯托尔量表。
弗里德曼检验显示，在蓍草组（χ = 92.19，自由度 = 2，P < 0.001）、蜂蜜组（χ = 93.29，自由度 = 2，P < 0.001）和母乳组（χ = 90.51，自由度 = 2，P < 0.001）中，皲裂严重程度均有显著降低。然而，克鲁斯卡尔 - 沃利斯检验显示这三组的皲裂严重程度评分之间无显著差异（P > 0.05）。
可向母乳喂养咨询中的女性推荐使用蜂蜜、蓍草和母乳，建议制药公司在制备抗皲裂乳膏时使用蜂蜜和蓍草。
