Abstract

(Berberidaceae) is a rare and threatened medicinal herb endemic to subtropical China. Here, we first report and characterize its complete chloroplast genome based on Illumina paired-end sequencing data. The complete plastid genome was 156,735 bp, which contained inverted repeats (IR) of 25,925 bp separated by a large single copy (LSC) and a small single copy (SSC) of 86,514 bp and 18,371 bp, respectively. The cpDNA contains 133 genes, comprising 86 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes, 8 rRNA genes, and 2 processed pseudogenes. The overall GC content of the plastome is 38.5%. The phylogenetic analysis of 17 selected chloroplast genomes demonstrated that is closely related to the congeneric .

小檗科植物是中国亚热带特有的一种珍稀濒危药用植物。在此,我们首次基于Illumina双端测序数据报道并表征了其完整的叶绿体基因组。完整的质体基因组为156,735 bp,其中包含25,925 bp的反向重复序列(IR),分别由86,514 bp的大单拷贝(LSC)和18,371 bp的小单拷贝(SSC)隔开。叶绿体DNA包含133个基因,包括86个蛋白质编码基因、37个tRNA基因、8个rRNA基因和2个加工过的假基因。质体基因组的总体GC含量为38.5%。对17个选定叶绿体基因组的系统发育分析表明,该植物与同属的[具体物种]密切相关。
