For the first time, HPO was used as both the reducing reagent and the promotor in the reductive benzylation reactions with aryl aldehydes. By using a HPO/I combination, various aromatic aldehydes underwent iodination reactions and Friedel-Crafts type reactions with arenes via benzyl iodide intermediates, readily producing benzyl iodides and diarylmethanes in good yields. Intramolecular cyclization reactions also took place, giving the corresponding cyclic compounds. This new strategy features easy-handling, low-cost, and metal-free conditions.
首次将 HPO 同时用作还原试剂和促进剂,用于芳基醛的还原苄基化反应。通过使用 HPO/I 组合,各种芳基醛通过苄基碘中间体与芳烃发生碘化反应和傅-克型反应,容易以良好的收率得到苄基碘化物和二芳基甲烷。分子内环化反应也发生,得到相应的环状化合物。这种新策略具有操作简单、成本低和无金属条件的特点。
