Abstract

A ruthenium complex [(-cymene)Ru(2,2'-bpyO)(HO)] was found to be a general and efficient catalyst for the -methylation of amines with methanol in the presence of carbonate salt. Moreover, a series of sensitive substituents, such as nitro, ester, cyano, and vinyl groups, were tolerated under present conditions. It was confirmed that OH units in the ligand are crucial for the catalytic activity. Notably, this research exhibited the potential of metal-ligand bifunctional ruthenium catalysts for the hydrogen autotransfer process.

一种钌配合物[(对异丙基苯)钌(2,2'-联吡啶氧化物)(羟基)]被发现是在碳酸盐存在下用甲醇对胺进行N-甲基化反应的通用且高效的催化剂。此外,在当前条件下,一系列敏感取代基,如硝基、酯基、氰基和乙烯基,都能被容忍。已证实配体中的羟基单元对催化活性至关重要。值得注意的是,该研究展示了金属-配体双功能钌催化剂在氢自转移过程中的潜力。
