This study aimed to examine the relationship between hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), one of the indicators of diabetes, and high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), one of the indicators of inflammation. Raw data from the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES, 2015-2017) was analyzed. Among the patients diagnosed with diabetes, 1,479 adults were selected as subjects for our study, and their HbA1c levels, hs-CRP levels, sex, age, body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, level of triglycerides and high-density lipoprotein (HDL)-cholesterol, hypertension, receipt of diagnosis, monthly average income, education, and drinking and smoking habits were recorded. Multiple regression analysis of hs-CRP was performed by dividing hs-CRP into quartiles using HbA1c as the dependent variable. In Model 1, sex, age, and BMI were adjusted, and in Model 2, sex, age, BMI, waist circumference, level of triglycerides and HDL-cholesterol, hypertension, and receipt of diagnosis were adjusted. In Model 3, Model 2 parameters along with monthly average household income, education level, and drinking and smoking habits were adjusted. HbA1c levels increased as the hs-CRP quartile increased, that is, 2 Quartile=0.307, p=0.003; 3 Quartile=0.431, p=0.001; and 4 Quartile=0.550, p=0.001. Of the various factors related to diabetes, this study examined the relationship between inflammation and diabetes.
本研究旨在探讨糖尿病指标之一的糖化血红蛋白(HbA1c)与炎症指标之一的高敏C反应蛋白(hs-CRP)之间的关系。分析了韩国国家健康与营养检查调查(KNHANES,2015 - 2017年)的原始数据。在确诊为糖尿病的患者中,选取1479名成年人作为本研究的对象,记录他们的HbA1c水平、hs-CRP水平、性别、年龄、体重指数(BMI)、腰围、甘油三酯水平和高密度脂蛋白(HDL)胆固醇水平、高血压、诊断接受情况、月平均收入、教育程度以及饮酒和吸烟习惯。以HbA1c为自变量,将hs-CRP分为四分位数,对hs-CRP进行多元回归分析。在模型1中,对性别、年龄和BMI进行了调整,在模型2中,对性别、年龄、BMI、腰围、甘油三酯水平和HDL胆固醇水平、高血压和诊断接受情况进行了调整。在模型3中,对模型2的参数以及月平均家庭收入、教育程度和饮酒及吸烟习惯进行了调整。随着hs-CRP四分位数的增加,HbA1c水平升高,即第二四分位数=0.307,p = 0.003;第三四分位数=0.431,p = 0.001;第四四分位数=0.550,p = 0.001。在与糖尿病相关的各种因素中,本研究探讨了炎症与糖尿病之间的关系。
