Abstract

AIM

This study aimed to identify the problems families of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities face in meeting their family members' care needs, using the Model of Nursing Based on Activities of Living, and planned implemented and evaluated the nursing interventions to fulfill these care needs.

METHOD

A cross-sectional screening model was used in the study. One hundred families of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, who accepted home visits between September 2008 and December 2008, were included in the study.

RESULTS

The study revealed a statistically significant difference ( < 0.05) between the Model of Nursing Based on Activities of Living total mean scores of care needs in the pre- (1.69 ± 0.21) and post-nursing intervention (1.50 ± 0.24) periods. Nurse-led interventions for daily life activities of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families were found to be effective ( < 0.05).

CONCLUSION

In line with the Model of Nursing Based on Activities of Living, nurse-led collaboration with families and relevant institutions positively contributed to meeting the care needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

目的

本研究旨在通过基于日常生活活动的护理模式,确定智障和发育障碍患者家庭在满足其家庭成员的护理需求方面所面临的问题,并对满足这些护理需求的护理干预措施进行计划、实施和评估。

方法

本研究采用了一种横断面筛查模型,纳入了 2008 年 9 月至 12 月期间接受家访的 100 个智障和发育障碍患者家庭。

结果

研究结果显示,基于日常生活活动的护理模式的护理需求总分在护理干预前后(1.69±0.21 和 1.50±0.24)存在统计学差异(<0.05)。针对智障和发育障碍患者及其家庭的日常生活活动的护士主导干预措施是有效的(<0.05)。

结论

根据基于日常生活活动的护理模式,护士与家庭以及相关机构的合作有助于满足智障和发育障碍患者及其家庭的护理需求。
