Ask the doctor. A hospital near me is advertising electron beam CT scanning of the heart to detect coronary artery disease. I don't have any symptoms of heart disease, but I did undergo this test--paying my own money, I would note! It came back with a fairly high calcium score, and the testing people told me to tell me doctor about it. My doctor says he doesn't know what to do with the information.
