Genetic Obesity-Causes and Treatments.

Genetic abnormalities are responsible for up to 70% of severe, early onset obesity. With recent advances in genetic testing, more individuals with genetic etiology of excessive weight are being identified. However, treatment will need to be individualized based on the cause and underlying pathophysiology.
