Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) is an acute, febrile, and highly contagious disease caused by the porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV). Glycoprotein 5 (GP5) is a glycosylated envelope protein encoded by the PRRSV , which has good immunogenicity and can induce the body to produce neutralizing antibodies. Therefore, study of GP5 protein is of great significance in the diagnosis, prevention, and control of PRRSV and the development of new vaccines. We reviewed GP5 protein genetic variation, immune function, interaction with viral protein and host proteins, induction of cell apoptosis, and stimulation of neutralizing antibodies. GP5 protein's influence on virus replication and virulence, as well as its use as a target for viral detection and immunization are reviewed.
猪繁殖与呼吸综合征(PRRS)是由猪繁殖与呼吸综合征病毒(PRRSV)引起的一种急性、发热性且高度传染性的疾病。糖蛋白5(GP5)是PRRSV编码的一种糖基化包膜蛋白,具有良好的免疫原性,可诱导机体产生中和抗体。因此,研究GP5蛋白在PRRSV的诊断、预防和控制以及新型疫苗的研发方面具有重要意义。我们综述了GP5蛋白的遗传变异、免疫功能、与病毒蛋白及宿主蛋白的相互作用、诱导细胞凋亡以及刺激中和抗体等方面。还综述了GP5蛋白对病毒复制和毒力的影响,以及其作为病毒检测和免疫靶点的应用。
