Factors related to readiness for practice among undergraduate nursing students: A systematic review.

Abstract

AIM

This systematic review identifies the factors and effective strategies related to nursing students' readiness for practice.

METHOD

A search was conducted from 2012 to 2022 in PubMed, CINAHL, SCOPUS, PsycInfo and EMBASE databases, using a combination of predetermined keywords. Four authors made the selection independently and the methodological quality was assessed using the RoBANS, Analytical cross-sectional studies Critical Appraisal Tool and MMAT tools. Information was extracted using a matrix and analyzed through the thematic synthesis approach.

RESULT

Studies (14,000) were identified from the search and 11 met the predetermined inclusion criteria. The main identified themes were personal characteristics, education-related factors, cognitive factors, psychological characteristics and social factors influencing readiness to practice. Some barriers also affect readiness for practice among undergraduate nursing students.

CONCLUSION

Multiple personal, educational and community factors interact in diverse ways to influences nursing students readiness to practice.

The protocol for the conduct of this study was registered on the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO) with the registration number CRD42020222337.

本系统评价确定了与护理学生实践准备相关的因素和有效策略。

方法

从 2012 年至 2022 年,在 PubMed、CINAHL、SCOPUS、PsycInfo 和 EMBASE 数据库中使用预定的关键词进行了搜索。四位作者独立进行了选择,并使用 RoBANS、分析性横断面研究批判性评价工具和 MMAT 工具评估了方法学质量。使用矩阵提取信息,并通过主题综合方法进行分析。

结果

从搜索中确定了 14000 项研究,其中 11 项符合预定的纳入标准。主要确定的主题是影响实践准备的个人特征、教育相关因素、认知因素、心理特征和社会因素。一些障碍也会影响本科护理学生的实践准备。

结论

多种个人、教育和社区因素以不同的方式相互作用,影响护理学生的实践准备。
