Transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) was introduced in 1977 with the administration of chemotherapeutic agent to gelatin sponge particles through the hepatic artery in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and was established as conventional TACE using Lipiodol in the 1980s. In the 2000s, drug-eluting beads were developed and applied clinically. Currently, TACE is a commonly used non-surgical treatment modality for patients with HCC who are unsuitable for curative treatment. Considering the vital role of TACE in the management of HCC, it is crucial to organize current knowledge and expert opinions regarding patient preparation, procedural techniques, and post-treatment care in TACE, which can enhance therapeutic efficacy and safety. A group of 12 experts in the fields of interventional radiology and hepatology, convened by the Research Committee of the Korean Liver Cancer Association (KLCA), has developed expert consensus-based practical recommendations in TACE. These recommendations have been endorsed by the Korean Society of Interventional Radiology and provide useful information and direction in performing TACE procedure as well as pre- and post- procedural patient care.
经动脉化疗栓塞术（TACE）于1977年被引入，当时是通过肝动脉向肝细胞癌（HCC）患者的明胶海绵颗粒中注入化疗药物，并在20世纪80年代确立了使用碘油的传统TACE。在21世纪，药物洗脱微球被研发并应用于临床。目前，TACE是不适用于根治性治疗的HCC患者常用的非手术治疗方式。鉴于TACE在HCC治疗中的重要作用，整理有关TACE患者准备、操作技术及治疗后护理的现有知识和专家意见至关重要，这有助于提高治疗效果和安全性。由韩国肝癌协会（KLCA）研究委员会召集的一组12位介入放射学和肝病学领域专家，制定了基于专家共识的TACE实用建议。这些建议已得到韩国介入放射学会的认可，并为实施TACE手术以及术前和术后患者护理提供了有用的信息和指导。
