The study is aimed to understand the antibacterial sensitivity of native and Indian varieties of garlic () and ginger () crude extracts against multidrug-resistant (MDR) poultry pathogen ( and sp.).
Thin layer chromatography (TLC) is used to identify the target spices' bioactive antibacterial compounds. MDR and sp. were isolated from poultry. The TLC-Bioautography technique was applied to explore the antibacterial potentiality of garlic and ginger.
Inhibitory activities of garlic were Zone of inhibition (ZI) = 14.03 ± 0.15 mm and 19.70 ± 0.36 mm, Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC): 0.625 and 0.325 mg/ml, and ginger were ZI = 14.63 ± 0.30 mm and 11.56 ± 0.51mm, MIC: 9.0 mg/ml against sp., respectively. Two bands of garlic ( value = 0.31 and 0.50) and one band of ginger ( value = 0.71) showed inhibitory potential in TLC-Bioautography against both MDR isolates.
Garlic and ginger were effective against MDR and sp These spices could be a suitable alternative during the antibiotic void.

大蒜对sp.的抑菌活性为抑菌圈(ZI)=14.03±0.15毫米和19.70±0.36毫米,最低抑菌浓度(MIC):0.625和0.325毫克/毫升;生姜对sp.的抑菌活性为ZI = 14.63±0.30毫米和11.56±0.51毫米,MIC:9.0毫克/毫升。在TLC-生物自显影中,大蒜的两条带(比移值=0.31和0.50)和生姜的一条带(比移值=0.71)对两种多重耐药分离株均显示出抑制潜力。
大蒜和生姜对多重耐药和sp.有效。在抗生素空白期,这些香料可能是合适的替代品。
