Abstract

Focusing on engineering control over cell function and fate, this article examines the critical balance of 'outside-in' and 'inside-ouť signaling in tissue development and regeneration. It highlights emerging strategies to manipulate these interactions, including biomaterial design and synthetic biology to influence this delicate equilibrium and fine tune cellular responses.
