The author analyzed clinical, angiographic, computer-tomographic and morphological findings obtained in patients with an occluded internal carotid artery. Polymorphism of neurological syndromes is due to a large variety of factors and combinations. The most important of them include characteristics of the pathogenesis of cerebral circulation disorders--mechanical exclusion of the blood flow or hemodynamic changes; different variants of the collateral circulation, combined lesion of extra-and intracranial arteries.
