Abstract

BACKGROUND

Burnout is prevalent among nursing staff, especially in the operating room, which is a high-intensity, high-pressure and fast-paced work environment. As the prevalence of nurse burnout increases, reducing the burnout of operating room nurses helps to improve the physical and mental health of nurses. Thus, stabilising the nursing team can also guarantee the quality of medical care, which in turn improves patient satisfaction. In this study, we conducted a meta-analysis based on the Pearson correlation coefficient to quantitatively analyse the factors related to burnout among operating room nurses and to provide a reliable basis for preventing and intervening in burnout among operating room nurses.

METHODS

CNKI, Wanfang Database, Wipro Database, China Biomedical Database, PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, CINAHL and Cochrane Library Database were searched, and the keywords 'operating room', 'nurses', 'burnout' and the corresponding English terms were used for the search. The time limit for the search was set from the creation of the databases to April 2024. Two researchers with evidence-based knowledge conducted the search, independently screened the literature according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, extracted the information and assessed the quality of the included literature using the quality assessment criteria for observational studies recommended by the Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research, and performed a meta-analysis of the literature using the r value as an indicator of the outcome in RevMan 5.4 software.

RESULTS

A total of 25 papers were included, with a sample size of 6,061 cases. The quality of the literature was moderate. The meta-analysis showed that job stress (r = 0.56, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.42-0.68, I = 86%), work-family conflict (r = 0.52, 95% CI: 0.36-0.64, I = 82%), willingness to leave (r = 0.42, 95% CI: 0.34-0.49, I = 0%) and hidden absenteeism (r = 0.49, 95% CI: 0.41-0.57, I = 55%) were positively correlated with burnout (p < 0.01), job immersion (r = - 0.39, 95% CI: - 0.40 to - 0.32, I = 0%), social support (r = - 0.46, 95%: - 0.58 to - 0.33, I = 74%), psychological capital (r = - 0.53, 95% CI: - 0.60 to - 0.45, I = 72%) and well-being (r = - 0.54, 95% CI: - 0.73 to - 0.27, I = 88%) were negatively correlated (p < 0.01).

CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATION

This study shows that burnout of operating room nurses is related to various factors, such as job stress, social support, work-family conflict, psychological capital and well-being. Therefore, it is suggested that hospital management should alleviate the burnout of operating room nurses from the multi-dimensional aspects of improving the work environment, enhancing social support and improving personal psychological capital and well-being to effectively alleviate burnout.

背景

方法

检索中国知网、万方数据库、维普数据库、中国生物医学数据库、PubMed、Web of Science、Embase、CINAHL和Cochrane图书馆数据库,使用关键词“手术室”“护士”“职业倦怠”及相应英文术语进行检索。检索时间范围设定为从各数据库创建至2024年4月。两名具备循证知识的研究人员进行检索,根据纳入和排除标准独立筛选文献,提取信息,并使用医疗保健质量和研究机构推荐的观察性研究质量评估标准评估纳入文献的质量,在RevMan 5.4软件中以r值作为结果指标对文献进行荟萃分析。

结果

共纳入25篇论文,样本量为6061例。文献质量中等。荟萃分析表明,工作压力(r = 0.56,95%置信区间[CI]:0.42 - 0.68,I = 86%)、工作 - 家庭冲突(r = 0.52,95% CI:0.36 - 0.64,I = 82%)、离职意愿(r = 0.42,95% CI:0.34 - 0.49,I = 0%)和隐性旷工(r = 0.49,95% CI:0.41 - 0.57,I = 55%)与职业倦怠呈正相关(p < 0.01),工作投入(r = - 0.39,95% CI: - 0.40至 - 0.32,I = 0%)、社会支持(r = - 0.46,95%: - 0.58至 - 0.33,I = 74%)、心理资本(r = - 0.53,95% CI: - 0.60至 - 0.45,I = 72%)和幸福感(r = - 0.54,95% CI: - 0.73至 - 0.27,I = 88%)与职业倦怠呈负相关(p < 0.01)。

结论与建议

本研究表明,手术室护士的职业倦怠与多种因素有关,如工作压力、社会支持、工作 - 家庭冲突、心理资本和幸福感。因此,建议医院管理层应从改善工作环境、增强社会支持、提升个人心理资本和幸福感等多维度缓解手术室护士的职业倦怠,以有效减轻职业倦怠。
