A novel actinomycete strain, designated Pv 4-285, was isolated from rhizosphere sample collected from growing in the Nikitsky Botanical Garden, Crimea, Ukraine. The strain Pv 4-285 shared the highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity with NEAU-KD1. The genome size was 4.6 Mbp with a DNA G+C content of 70.43%. The isolate was Gram-stain-positive, non-spore-forming, non-motile and aerobic. Cells were observed to be irregularly rod-shaped. Pv 4-285 was able to grow at 20-37 °C and at pH 6.0-9.0 and in the presence of up to 6% (w/v) NaCl. The predominant menaquinone was detected as MK-9(H). The polar lipid profile of strain Pv 4-285 consisted of diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylinositol mannoside and phosphatidylinositol. Pv 4-285 contained C, С ω9c, 10-methyl C, C. While galactose, mannose and xylose were detected in strain Pv 4-285 as the whole-cell sugars. Based on these differences, strain Pv 4-285 (=DSM 118545 =LMG 33743) should be classified as the type strain of a novel species of , for which the name sp. nov. is proposed.
