Abstract

PURPOSE

This prospective, randomized controlled study aimed to compare the effects of high-flow oxygen therapy and conventional oxygen therapy in the treatment of acute cardiogenic pulmonary edema following hip fractures and surgery in elderly patients.

METHODS

From February 2018 to October 2023, 124 patients diagnosed with acute cardiogenic pulmonary edema following hip fractures and surgery were randomly assigned to the high-flow oxygen therapy group (n=62) or conventional oxygen therapy group (n=65). Partial pressure of oxygen (PO) and blood oxygen saturation (SPO) were assessed 60 minutes after the treatments. A P value <0.05 was considered statistically significant.

RESULTS

There were significant differences in PO (66.2 ± 3.3 mmHg 62.1 ± 3.4 mmHg, P<0.05) and SPO (97.8 ± 2.1 mmHg 94.2 ± 1.7 mmHg, P<0.05) between the groups.

CONCLUSION

In the treatment of elderly patients with ACPE following hip fractures and surgery, high-flow oxygen therapy may be performed to improve ventilation when acute cardiogenic pulmonary edema does not significantly improve within 15 minutes of conventional oxygen therapy.

目的

本前瞻性随机对照研究旨在比较高流量氧疗与传统氧疗对老年髋部骨折及手术后急性心源性肺水肿的治疗效果。

方法

2018年2月至2023年10月,124例诊断为髋部骨折及手术后急性心源性肺水肿的患者被随机分为高流量氧疗组(n = 62)和传统氧疗组(n = 65)。治疗60分钟后评估氧分压(PO)和血氧饱和度(SPO)。P值<0.05被认为具有统计学意义。

结果

两组间PO(66.2±3.3 mmHg对62.1±3.4 mmHg,P<0.05)和SPO(97.8±2.1 mmHg对94.2±1.7 mmHg,P<0.05)存在显著差异。

结论

在治疗老年髋部骨折及手术后急性心源性肺水肿时,若传统氧疗15分钟内心源性肺水肿无明显改善,可采用高流量氧疗改善通气。
