Both open and arthroscopic techniques have been successful in treating posterior ankle impingement syndrome and related hindfoot issues. However, arthroscopy stands out for its superior benefits, including reduced morbidity, minimal scarring, less trauma to surrounding tissues, and quicker recovery, allowing patients to return to their daily lives and sporting activities swiftly. In this article, we share our positive experience with posterior ankle arthroscopy for os trigonum excision, highlighting its impact on enhancing patient outcomes and restoring full ankle function.
